WolfPack MilSim

We have been invited by WolfPack to participate in an upcoming MilSim event. Below is their correspondence. I will keep you updated. I have tentatively promised our participation based on the date.

--

I am extending an invitation to your team to participate in our Bi-Annual Wolfpack MilSim game in Muskoka Ontario for autumn 2008. The games date and times are TBA as of now, but we are currently looking at September. It will be held on a weekend.

Rules for the game will reflect the professionalism of its players, and will therefore be lenient in comparison to typical game rules. That being said, safety remains paramount and continues to be our main priority.

This MilSim Op will be an objective based operation, pitting a coalition of teams against another coalition of teams. Real teams aligning with other real teams to combat an aggressor force of the equal design.

Teams will be expected to attend in their own respective uniforms and will be identified by their respective patches, unless the team does not have a team patch in place. Operation Coordinators will make every reasonable effort to align teams based on uniform patterns. That being said, teams may elect to operate in civilian attire as well.

More information will be provided once we assemble a pool of interested teams. As many already know, our Muskoka field provides camping grounds for those attending and wishing to stay for the weekend in its entirety. It goes without saying that the onus is on each person to police their own waste and help in keeping the camp site clean. Upon completion of the operation, participants normally partake in a BBQ social following the operations debriefing.

I would ask that your team consider the invitation and reply at your earliest convenience. In short, you do not want to miss this unique opportunity.

Cheers,

Viking
Wolfpack

OK, I've been asked to provide WP brass with a firm player count.

Time to commit folks. I think this is a great opportunity for the team to get together one last time before the year winds down. So... I need a show of hands of who is 100% confirmed barring death.

Lawdog, in my absence, could you please get in contact via PM with Viking from Wolfpack and let him know how many people are coming up?

Date again is October 3 - 5.

I'm in.

I need some commitment from team members on this one. It will probably be the last big OP of the year.

Yes, I will be arriving for friday evening and camping until Sunday morning.

Yes, Novakayne, you can get a lift up with me.

Any other people getting in on this so I can post our team commitment?

Just wanted to check in, game is less than two weeks off, do you guys have any plans on how to convoy up? You mentioned going up and showing up as a group.

I'm planning to come to this, so i'd like to figure out some details.

Friday October 3:

Rally up at location ?? ~1630hrs
Convoy Leave: Oscar Mike ~1700hrs

Muskoka: ~2.5 hr trip

Arrive On Location ~19:30hrs (field opens at 1900 friday night)

Setup Camp, make dinner (i have a small grill), prep for game.... etc.

Saturday October 4:
Game day. Game ends at 1700. They provide dinner... can stay for that, than leave for home.

Yeah, we can all meet up at my place. Marc, sign up on the ASC thread and get on board. Would be nice to end the year with 4 or 5 rangers at this event.

Friday is actually October 3rd. So you guys are going up the night before to camp?

I'm working that weekend so I can't go unfortunately.

Oops, yes, dates were off... but anyway. Ive signed up... dynamo may be coming too, though he wont be able to do much, except maybe defend our base or something like this (if he's playing).

Im going to try to get Friday afternoon off, so i can get to your place and what not ahead of time... so we just convoy up.

Does anybody have a 3 point sling they would like to trade or lend me for this event?  I'm growing tired of the bungee sling I have.

Any idea on the rules yet... ammo?, mags?, medics?, coms?

Nope, but if its not on there, it is irrelevant at this point. Any more important stuff like coms will be figured out day of i guess. Everyone just bring some FRS radios with headsets.

All i have is hicaps, and i dont intend on buying any lowcaps a day before the game... they post nothing about it, so its good for me.

Another thing is the teams are rather unbalanced, i wanted to throw out the suggestion that if all of us should switch sides, and go up to kick some wolf ass. Anyone interested? We will all have to switch as a team though.

If we do switch, we could use our Russian gear - but i dont know if the newer guys have it?

I don't have any Russian gear, but I could always rock my DCU's.

I'm good to go with russian gear also. I'll even bring my AK47 to see how she runs.
As long as new guys are wearing the team patches I am sure it would be ok.

i'm not sure they'd want cadpat on both sides.. anyone have extra russian camo or flecky or something? and as it looks from the ppl who signed up.. all 6 of us switching would put it at 14 UN 19 LRC which is only slightly more even.. i mean i'm down for the switch but it's not doing much good atm..

On second thought, my woodland uniform has gone AWOL.  All I have right now is CADPAT.

Right now we'll keep it as a tentative suggestion. But if everyone could bring an extra set of non-digital camo to the game with you (Russian preferred), we will be able to swtich if required... but for the moment lets stay CADPAT.

I'd rather do that than wear an armband.

UPDATE.

Titan has contacted me regarding switching over to the other team to balance. I told him no problem.

I'll check the BDU requirements, but if you have the russian rig, wear that (It'll be warmer too!)

I'll try to get 100% confirmation about what is happening asap, but as of right now, our team is switching sides, wearing russian.

If you plan on attending, please sign up asap.

Copy that.

The BDU requirements for the LRA / IPF teams is basically anything non-digital. Ill have Russian gear, if you guys dont have that, i suggest bringing or acquiring something like woodland.

The old CF OD's are non digital and you can pick them up for like $20.

We're 100% confirmed as switched. We're still all together so that's good.

I'll be sporting my Russian set-up. As Scatter says, if you don't have russian, U.S. woodlands is the next best thing.

I've got a couple of remote detonation claymores I might bring to this one, not sure yet.

I don't see any ruling on ammo, mag capacities, smoke, grenades...

I say those who are either carpooling or in the convoy should be at my place no later than 5pm on friday. About 2 hours to get up there puts us up there in enough light to put up tents and prep... have some fun.

Please confirm who will be at my house at 5pm so we don't leave without anyone.

CO out-

edit: i can be there for 5pm.. i'm gonna have to leave at like.. 230 lol that's gonna suuuuuuck

By the way, when we convoy up... my Jeep is likely to slow you guys down a bit, LOL.... hills or head-on wind = not cool haha. Like driving a brick wall that can go over stuff =)
