This game will very likely run like his Terminator game a few weeks ago. He will have one or multiple "zombies" that are more or less invincible - except only killable if you hit a specific predetermined spot on their body (they may not announce what that spot will be). Also, the "survivors" will be broken up into teams, which will sort of work together, but also against one another - meaning, he may throw in an objective for one team to steal something from another by any means necessary.
That means, if we should work as a team, we should somewhat coordinate. However, at night, things will be difficult enough to distinguish. Although i HOPE flashlights will be allowed for this... Downside of the Terminator game is you had to complete missions to collect points, to in turn trade in to be allowed to use tech (i.e. flashlights).
I suspect it will be similar situation for this.
That said, kit wise, go with something easy to maintain in the dark.
im thinkin for the sake of simplicity just stick to a plain easy pmc ish look. Im most likely just wearing jeans black tshrt/golfshirt chestrig ballcap and hydraton carrier. Just a thought.....but yeah if we wanna coordinate dress guess we could hammer that out at the meeting as well lol
Anyone know if there is a mag tracer unit for the G36? I think I'm going to run my G36 EBB at this game, and I'd love to have tracers... but hate the tracer in the silencer (had problems in the past).
I just googled this, and couldn't find a G36 version to work with the Ares/Umarex G36 EBB I have. Not sure what hop-up is in this thing. At the end of the day, I just want a tracer unit that works well with this gun, and preferably not a tracer unit.
Its entirely possible that the rules for this game may be similar; but likely a rudimentary version of those, as we wont get them until shortly before the game. So just a heads up of what you can expect.
Also, depending on how this game goes, kind of thinking may attend this one as well... havent seen this field yet though.

i can do it in an afternoon. i can have it wired directly to the gearbox so it only lights up when you're shooting, or i can add a tactile switch so it only lights up when it's pressed. i was in whiby wednesday and thursday, had i known i could have picked it up. i might be back in whiby on tuesday.
well, like i said i might be in your area Tuesday. i talked to Matt and he says you can give it to him on monday since he works in Ajax, right by the GO station. he can then drop it off monday evening, and i'll bring it to whitby and give it back to you tuesday. i can do for you for $30.
Also, for those of you that didnt spot the tiny link for the rules... i just noticed it: http://www.operationdeadbydawn.com/78-announcements/74-dead-by-dawn-rules
Similar style gameplay as that other game, but read it over so you know how its going to go down!
BTW, get a rubber knife if you dont have one... or two =)
Yep, i spoke to him about it at the recent game. In fact, technically any cold steel blade (including swords) would work, because you arent hitting anyone at all in the game, you are just tapping the knife/blade against them with no force - no slashing.
Swords are just stupidly impractical to carry around, so i opted for a long knife and this axe =)

Just got the axe in... this thing is pretty bad ass for a training tool. I would suggest we all get one of these and use em for this game... we can form some post apocalypse group called the Axe Clan or the like...
No pics/vids... werent allowed to record - or at least post anything outside the WW bunker; Andre took some video i think, but not sure how well it came out as it was fairly dark.
When we got there, came at a good time as they started filming that teaser for Rhino. We only really got to see the large open area of the main building (which was sort of a warehouse), there is an adjacent office building with 2-3 floors that we didnt get to see, or outside past the warehouse where there are the other structures that are part of the field.... This building is fully functional, so there is running water and electricity everywhere, including clean bathrooms.
Looks cool so far, wish i could have seen more though. Had a few skirmishes inside the warehouse area. Drive there was fairly easy though, right off the 401...
Ummm.... there is a slight chance i may not make it out to this.
My work situation changed yet again, the place i was at was supposed to expand in doing lots of cool new ****, turned out they no longer wanted to, and seem to stick to pure programming; so my creative position is no longer needed (havent actually had any creative work for the last 4 months)... anyway, im back in the movie set construction. For money is great, but hours are kind of different. So i expect to work Saturday, but i'll try to make it to the game.
Program? I get by, if its something advanced i just figure it out and get it done. My main area is in design/ux; although i really gotta redo my portfolio, as all the stuff i did was internal and i cant show it off... damn contracts.
And got an update for tomorrow, not working, so will be going to the game. Im in for convoy, we can meet just off the 401 by Oshawa somewhere; Chris, let me know what time/where is best, as you know the area much better.

Game starts at 7:00pm correct? We should leave Oshawa around 5:00pm to be safe. Did everyone want to meet at the burger joint in the Walmart plaza on Stephenson road at say 4:30pm? Grab a bite and then off we go? Get off the 401 on Stephenson, go over the highway (north) and the Walmart plaza is the first big plaza... I think the burger joint is 5 guys burgers or something like that. I think it's the only burger place in the entire plaza.
JUst a thought but with it being a holiday weekend and drivers are stupid lol if we can might wanna leave at 430 just to be on the safe side. Wouldnt hurt to be there a lil early just a thought
